President Grosoli

Mariangela Grosoli is the President of the Consortium for the Protection of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PGI. After the speech of the Senator Bellanova, wanted to thank the Minister for her words and for her ideas about protecting the Balsamic. Ms Grosoli also suggested that also the regional and local institutions have to follow them in this important project. She said that all together should protect the product, the Denomination and the thousands of jobs.
Today the value of the sector is estimated at over one billion euros.

Director Desimoni

Federico Desimoni is the director of the Consortium. He also participated in the presentation of the “Atlante Qualivita Food, Wine & Spirits 2020”. Desimoni affirmed that this situation highlights two different strategic visions in Europe. The first vision, the Italian one, focuses on the concept of quality strictly connected to products with a strong cultural, historical, traditional and territorial identity. The second vision, from the Member States, wants total deregulation in favour of productions without identity. The protagonists of this comparison are the Italian protection Consortia and the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies which, with the great operational support of the Inspectorate for Fraud Repression and Quality Control, seek to defend the values and vision of the Italian system. The goal is to protect the quality Made in Italy.
Desimoni affirmed that the Italian system must support Consortia and promote their activities in defence of the national heritage and transparent market.

Also attended the “Atlante Qualivita Food, Wine & Spirits 2020” Paolo De Castro S&D ComAgri Coordinator of the European Parliament, Cesare Mazzetti President of the Qualivita Foundation, Riccardo Ricci Curbastro President of Federdoc, Cesare Baldrighi President of OriGIn Italy, Massimo Bray General Director of the “Istituto Della Enciclopedia Italiana” and Mauro Rosati Director of the Qualivita Foundation.
