Today, with great enthusiasm, we inform you that Balsamic Vinegar is part of the EU-China Agreement regarding PDO/PGI products.
The Balsamic Vinegar of Modena will be included in the list of 100 PDOs/PGIs protected by China.
Balsamic Vinegar is part of the EU-China Agreement signed by European Agriculture Commissioner Phil Hogan and Chinese Trade Minister Zhong Shan. The Agreement will protect 100 European PDO/PGI products in China and 100 Chinese PGI products in Europe.
In particular, by the end of 2020, the European Parlament will examine the Agreement and it will take place.
Our Modenese product will be one of the 26 Italian products that will be protected by China.
We report the words of the Director of the Consortium for the Protection of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, Federico Desimoni. He defines the agreement as crucial for our Denomination.
Thanks to this international recognition, it will be possible to increase the commercial expansion of the product itself. Our Italian entrepreneurs will be advantaged.
Desimoni firmly believes that geographical indications are a right to which legal protection must be recognized. It is not always simple to be recognized and protect in the international market. The international protection of the European GIs is an issue as important as it is complex. The path traced by the registration system of collective marks and certification has offered solutions sometimes hard to follow from the Consortia.
In conclusion, Balsamic Vinegar is part of the EU-China Agreement because of the important job made from the Consortium for the promotion and protection of the Denomination.
The Balsamic Vinegar of Modena will, therefore, be protected in full and without conditions.
Happy with this new conquest of our typical Italian product, we invite you to stay tuned on our blog so as not to miss important news regarding Balsamic Vinegar of Modena.
Greetings from Modena.
