Today we would like to talk about the new agreement signed by the presidents of the Balsamic Vinegar PGI and PDO during a conference a few days ago. This agreement is really significant. In fact, it represents the will to collaborate and share strategies between the two Consortia.
The importance of the collaboration between the Consortium of Balsamic Vinegar PGI and the Consortium of Balsamic Vinegar PDO is crucial. The goal is to protect and enhance the Balsamic products as part of the traditional Modenese culture.
The history of the Balsamic Vinegar started about one thousand years ago as a unique product. Only two hundred years ago the Balsamic has been divided into different products with different features: the Balsamic PGI and the Traditional PDO
During the last few years, the two Consortia worked together by organizing local events as the “Acetaie Aperte” and “Le Terre del Balsamico”. This collaboration indicates the purpose of the two presidents of the Balsamic Vinegar Consortia to valorize this special Italian product.
The agreement has legalized this collaboration and a new Committee has been created. The president of this Committee is Enrico Corsini, now president of the Traditional Balsamic PDO, for the next two years.
Enrico Corsini said that the union between the two Balsamic it is essential and crucial for the promotion of the territory. On the other side Mariangela Grosoli, president of the Balsamic P.G.I., wanted to emphasize also the positive impact on the traditional Modenese cuisine.
Definitely the two presidents of the Balsamic Vinegar PGI and PDO agree that this agreement is also a great example of good entrepreneurship and it will certainly help the trade of Balsamic Vinegar
